I met Les Awuah at Roj Whitelock’s studio in London, where Les interviewed me about Headshots Matter for Roj’s series “Views From The Nest.” The interview itself was great — Les asked thoughtful and curious questions from a London actor’s perspective, and the conversation flowed with an ease that made it feel more like two new friends chatting than an interview.

After we wrapped the interview, I had the chance to learn more about him. I walked away genuinely grateful for the time we shared. Les has this calm, steady way about him — the kind of presence that subtly lifts a room.
We talked about creative work (LesInFocus), the unexpected turns life can take, and the joy of doing what feels truer to who you are. And beyond his insight, Les is genuinely multi-talented — an actor, a model, and a DJ who’s pretty cool at what he does. What stayed with me most, though, was how open and curious he was. No rush. No pretense. Just an easy, honest exchange between two people who care about making things (and who are ready and open to learn and explore). Finding one’s true path can feel elusive at times, but maybe questioning the path is part of walking it.
Meeting Les was one of those small London moments that remind me why I enjoy these projects (Headshots Matter and 60at60) and how they overlap in the best ways — offering a chance to slow down, listen, and really see the good and the interesting-ness in the person right in front of you.
Thanks so much, Les — for the questions, and for the openness to learn about each other.
Cheers, Dwayne.
