The 60 at 60 Project

In 2023, to mark my 60th birthday and 40 years behind the camera, I set out to create 60 new black-and-white portraits. It’s an ongoing project — unfolding quietly in between my corporate work.

Portraits have always been my happy place. Each session is a chance to connect. As I often say, “A portrait is not only an opportunity to learn about the person in front of me, but maybe also a little more about myself.”

Yesterday, I had a lovely visit with my son Alex, in Montreal. We had a nice drive, catching up and hearing about his studies at Concordia University, then a photo-walk in Old Montreal - which I’m happy to say included a quick impromptu portrait.

Alex has always seemed older than his years. He’s curious, creative, thoughtful, and he loves learning—often teaching himself whatever he’s interested in or curious about. I’m thrilled for him that he’s currently studying history - something he’s loved since he was just a boy.
